The City of Colorado Springs has provided the following tracks to guide your hackathon projects. Each track has a dedicated prize, and there is also a grand prize for the best overall project.
See official track guideInfrastructure is essential for creating a connected, accessible, and resilient city. This track focuses on expanding safe and reliable multimodal transportation options and supporting well-maintained parks, trails, and recreation spaces. Students will explore solutions that improve mobility, strengthen connectivity, or enhance how residents experience public spaces.
Public Safety is at the core of a thriving community. This track encourages ideas that support safer neighborhoods, improve situational awareness, or make it easier for residents to access critical information and resources. Students may design tools that help prevent risks, strengthen emergency readiness, or promote more responsive communication between the city and the community.
Community Activation empowers residents to engage with one another and participate more meaningfully in civic life. This track centers on accessible communication channels, transparent data, and neighborhood-based engagement efforts that help people feel informed and connected. Students can build solutions that activate public spaces, support community gatherings, or increase understanding of city decisions.
A hackathon is an event where students come together to collaborate, build, and showcase creative projects in a short time frame, usually over 24 hours. It’s a chance to learn new skills, work with a team, and innovate in a supportive environment. At Colorado College’s Tiger HaCCs, you can look forward to mentors, interactive workshops, fun activities, and great prizes.
Tiger HaCCs 1.0 will take place in the Russell T. Tutt Science Center from December 6th-7th, 2025. It’ll be 24 hours of hacking, workshops, social events, and more!
Any Colorado College student, from any major or graduating year, is welcome to participate!
Official team formation won’t be necessary to register. While participating as a team is required, don’t worry if you don’t have one yet! Teams can have up to 4 members, and we’ll kick off Tiger HaCCs with a Team Mixer event so you can meet other hackers and find teammates to collaborate with.
No experience, no problem! We welcome participants from all majors and skill levels. Throughout the event, you’ll be supported by workshops and mentors available during collaborative hours.
Tiger HaCCs is fully in-person! All activities, from check-in to judging, will take place in the Russell T. Tutt Science Center. Please make sure you can attend in person before registering.
You can’t continue work on a project you began before the hackathon. Ideation beforehand is totally fine, but all implementation must happen during the event.
Please reach out to Emma Fairburn ( efairburn@coloradocollege.edu), Varsha Koushik ( vkoushik@coloradocollege.edu), or the Coding Club Leadership Team. We’re always happy to help!
